An alleged teaser of Mi 7 – Xiaomi’s flagship phone – put up on Weibo reveals the launch date of the phone. The poster, which has a burning number 7 in the middle and Mi logo on the top-right corner, mentions May 23 as the date of unveiling. However, the image came from a source other than Xiaomi, making us question its credibility.

Given that the Mi 7 is well-past its yearly launch cycle (the Mi 6 was launched in April last year), the launch date mentioned above doesn’t sound implausible.
Will Xiaomi Launch the Mi 7 in India?
For those keeping track, the Mi 6 was not launched in India. Xiaomi did introduce a high-end phone Mi Mix 2 (Review) later. Since Xiaomi is in the process of launching at least one of its flagship phones here, either Mi 7 or Mi Mix 2S can make it to the Indian shores.

Xiaomi Mi 7 Specifications (Expected)
Every now and then, we have seen Mi 7 specs popping on the internet. They suggest that the phone will rock Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core SoC, paired with 8GB of RAM and sports 5.65-inch Full HD+ 18:9 display up front. The Mi 7 is expected to have dual 16-megapixel sensors on the back and house a 4000mAh battery with fast charging support.
Meanwhile, reports also indicated that the Mi 7 will have an in-display fingerprint sensor, 3D facial recognition for unlocking the device, and wireless charging support. More information will flow in as we inch closer to the launch date.
