HTC today launched the Desire 626 Dual SIM variant in India priced at 14,990 INR. The name sounds familiar? That is partly because HTC has many similar sounding models selling between 10 – 20 K range (626 G+, 826, etc etc… I am sure you get the gist) and also because the Desire 626 was in the new last year when it was first showcased in other markets.

What is coming to India is the refreshed variant with an improved chipset. The Snapdragon 410+ 1GB RAM + 8GB storage has been replaced by MediaTek MT6752 humming at 1.7 GHz and duly assisted by 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage.

You can add 32GB microSD card and fill it to brim with media files, and relish with rich dual frontal Boomsound speakers on the 5 Inch 720p HD display. You won’t be out of place demanding full HD display for the asking price, but again the MT6752 is known to work best with 720p HD resolution.

Another highlight is the camera hardware. HTC Desire 626 Dual comes equipped with 13MP rear camera with LED Flash, BSI sensor and f/2.2 aperture, 28mm lens. A 5MP front selfie camera is also present. Other features include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX, HTC Sense 6 UI and 2000 mAh battery.

“Our customers are gradually looking for stylish 4G LTE enabled smartphones with faster processors, network speeds and outstanding battery life. They are creating and consuming rich video content and want greater freedom to personalise their smartphones. We know they love the flexibility that comes with expandable memory,” said Mr. Faisal Siddiqui, President, HTC South Asia. Further to which he added, “At a remarkable price, the HTC Desire 626 Dual SIM delivers the distinctive features with an outstanding user experience in a sleek, chic, slim package.”
