How to recharge another jio number from My Jio app using discount voucher

Even a couple of years after disrupting the Indian telecom sector and revitalizing numerous online services, Reliance Jio continues to offer cheap data plans. To further sweeten the pot, Jio offers Rs. 50 discount vouchers to consumers who recharge using My Jio app, further reducing the effective price.

However, the most direct Recharge option (Recharge>> ‘Recharge other number’) doesn’t let you use these discount vouchers to recharge other jio numbers. So, if you have a few Jio vouchers in your Jio app and want to avail them to recharge another Jio number belonging to one of your family members or your friends, here is what you can do.

Recharge Another Jio Number while using the discount voucher

My Jio doesn’t let you avail discount voucher while recharging other Jio numbers directly, but you can apply the discount while buying a recharge voucher, and then redeem it on another number. Just follow these simple steps:

Method 1:

If you have to repeatedly recharge any other Jio number of a family member using your recharge voucher discount, this one is the simpler method.

Step 1: Open MyJio app and tap on “Link new account”.

Step 2: Tap on ‘Mobile’ tile and enter the number you wish to recharge. Next, verify by entering OTP received on the second number.

Step 3: From next time onwards, just tap on the ‘Switch Account’ option whenever you wish to recharge the other number using your discount vouchers.

Method 2: 

If you need to charge another number one time while using your discount voucher and do not wish to link it to your account, or if there is no means to access OTP from the other number, follow these steps:

Step 1: Tap on “My Vouchers” option in the bottom bar.

Step 2: On the next screen, tap on “Buy”.

Step 3: Now, buy the recharge plan of your choice. And Apply Discount Voucher on the Payment page.

Step 4: You will see the new voucher that you just bought listed under “My Vouchers”

Step 5: Tap on “Redeem”

Step 6: Don’t forget to tap on “Change” below your Jio number. Now enter the other Jio number you wish to recharge and proceed.

That’s it.

Recharge Another Jio Number Without using the discount voucher

If you don’t really care about the Rs. 50 discount voucher, the process is simpler.

Step 1: Hit the hamburger menu icon on the top left corner in My Jio app.

Step 2: Now Tap on Recharge and select “Recharge other number”.

Step 3: Now, you can enter your other Jio number or of some other acquaintance, and proceed with recharge.
