The new Motor Vehicle Act in India imposes some of the heaviest fines for violating any traffic laws related to illegal parking, driving under influence (DUI), and others. The penalties are getting higher for each count to deter drivers from repeating the offences repeatedly. The Central Government has strengthened the provisions for finding information on challans across the board, giving drivers access to all the challans (both paid and unpaid).

The Ministry of Road Transports and Highways has even made the information on challans available online through the e-challan website where users can gain information on challans and even pay the dues. Paying challans from time to time allows drivers to continue driving as unpaid challans can rack up penalties and influence the probability of imprisonment. Here’s how you can actively check any pending challans to verify their authenticity and pay the dues online without any hassle.
