After Jio and Airtel Vodafone 4G VoLTE Launched; Here’s How to Activate Vodafone VoLTE services

Vodafone India has finally rolled out its much awaited VoLTE. With this announcement, Vodafone has become only the third operator after Reliance Jio and Airtel to offer VoLTE services in the country.

The Voice over Long-term Evolution, popularly known as VoLTE, is a standard for high-speed wireless communication for mobile phones and data terminals. The service was first introduced in India by Reliance back in 2016. It basically allows you to make Voice calls with better speed and HD quality with no extra cost involved.

Vodafone 4G VoLTE service

As of now, the service is available only in select cities including Delhi-NCR, Gujarat and Mumbai. Vodafone VoLTE service will next be launched in Kolkata and Karnataka and extended across the country in a phased manner.

Vodafone has said that it is working with all handset vendors to bring Vodafone VoLTE support to other phones soon.

Here’s How to enable VoLTE service on your Vodafone service:

  • To enjoy Vodafone VoLTE service, you should have a Vodafone 4G SIM and a 4G VoLTE connectivity phone (To check if it does SMS ‘4G CHECK‘ to 199).
  • Make sure your device is running on latest OS. Android users can enable the VoLTE service. To do so go to your phone’s Settings > Mobile networks > Turn on VoLTE call.
  • For iOS, Go to Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Options > Enable 4GVoice & Data.
  • The dual-SIM users have to make sure that their Vodafone SIM is inserted in the SIM slot with data capability.

When I check if my phone supports Vodafone 4G or not, a reply from vodafone says – ‘You can use 4G vodafone services. To use Voda VoLTE services you need to upgrade your phone’. How to upgrade my handset to use Vodafone VoLTE.
