Honor has officially launched budget smartphones Honor 9A and Honor 9S in India on July 31. The two mobile phones were unveiled globally at the end of April. The company also unveiled the Honor MagicBook 15 laptop alongside.
Both of these Honor phones manage without Google services. Huawei confidently proclaims that “You don’t need Google Play Store when you can play with all your fav apps on all-new AppGallery on Honor 9A/9S.”

Honor 9A and Honor 9S Price and Availability
Honor has set the price of Honor 9A at Rs 8,999 in India. The phone has been unveiled under Amazon’s Prime Day 2020 sale, and will go on sale from August 6. The color options are- Midnight Black and Phantom Blue.
On the other hand, the entry-grade Honor 9S is exclusive to Flipkart only. The 9S is priced at Rs 5,999 for its lone 2+32GB variant. Honor 9S comes in Blue and Black color options and will hit online retail shelves from August 6.
Honor 9A Features
The Honor 9A comes with a 6.3-inch HD+ full view display with 1600×720 pixels resolution and a waterdrop notch housing an 8MP selfie camera. It gets a triple rear camera setup with a 13MP main sensor, a 5MP super wide-angle camera, and a 2MP depth sensor.
For processing, Honor 9A ships with MediaTek Helio P22 chipset coupled with a 3GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage, expandable to 512GB via dedicated microSD slot. The device runs on Android 10 with Magic UI 3.1 skin at the top.
The Honor 9A has a beefy 5000mAh battery with reverse charging. The 9A offers both a fingerprint sensor and face recognition to unlock the phone. Connectivity options include dual 4G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Honor 9S Features
The Honor 9S gets a smaller 5.45-inch HD display with 1440×720 pixels resolution. It gets the same Helio P22 chipset with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. It also runs over Magic UI 3.1 based on Android 10. The 9S settles with a modest 3020mAh battery, justifying the price.
For photography, Honor 9S boasts an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front shooter. The device doesn’t offer a fingerprint sensor but comes with a facial unlock mechanism.
