Honda City Hybrid sedan unveiled in India; Here are specs and availability details

Honda Motors introduced its new Honda City Hybrid in India earlier on April 14. The new sedan is dubbed Honda City e: HEV in the country. The Japanese automobile conglomerate has unveiled the car as India’s first strong hybrid electric vehicle. 

Honda City Hybrid Price and Availability

The new Honda City Hybrid will be available in a single model and the company is calling it ZX Sensing e: HEV. The expected ex-showroom price of the new Sedan is Rs 19.99 Lakh in the country and the customers can book it from now onwards at their nearest Honda dealership. The official launch and delivery will start early in May 2022.

Honda City Hybrid sedan features

The new Honda City Hybrid is driven by a 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine and two electric motors with a lithium-ion battery including a generator and a traction motor. The combined powertrain of the Honda e:HEV produces an output of 126PS and a peak torque of 253Nm. It is claimed to provide an improved fuel efficiency of 26.5kmpl.

The inclusion of Honda Sensing technology differs the new City e:HEV from the existing model and offers an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). It includes features like emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot detection, lane assistance, auto high beam, etc.

The Honda Connect feature allows smart connectivity with iOS and Android smartwatches to control functionalities like keyless system, voice assistants for Alexa, Google, and Amazon Echo, car status, high-speed alert, find my car, and others. It offers six airbags for safety.

The interior of the Honda City Hybrid has a 7-inch TFT driver information interface, an electric sunroof, ambient lights, LED interior room lamps, rear AC vents, and a dual-tone black color theme. It has an advanced 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display. On the exterior, it has a sporty cosmetic comprising a slim front grille, fog light garnish, rear diffuser, and trunk spoiler.

Since the company has not revealed the pricing details so far, we will let you know as soon as it gets official.
