TL; DR
- Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick reconfirmed GTA 6’s planned November 19 release in a shareholder letter.
- GTA Online continues to “outpace expectations,” with the December 2025 update cited as a major success.
- The August 7 earnings call may bring first pre-order figures and possibly a third GTA 6 trailer.
Strauss Zelnick’s latest letter, aimed at preparing investors for Take-Two Interactive’s September 17 annual meeting, uses the word “planned” to refer to GTA 6’s previously announced November 19 release date. Through no fault of its own, the word has sent fans into predictable spirals. Even though legal boilerplate almost always inserts that kind of qualifier, there is no evidence of a delay so far.

What Zelnick Actually Said
Zelnick describes fiscal year 2027 as having “the potential to be a major inflection point” for Take-Two. Of course, GTA 6 is the leading revenue driver. He projects that operating cash flow will exceed $1 billion in the financial year. Even though pre-order sales figures were not shared in the letter, the August 7 earnings call could change that soon.
However, it was the unusual early Friday-morning timing of that call that is being widely flagged as a signal: something significant may accompany it. Online discussions suggest a third trailer for the game, which has been absent from Rockstar’s marketing since pre-orders opened.

GTA Online Is Doing Just Fine
The letter spends meaningful time on GTA Online. The version continues to “outpace expectations significantly.” He specifically names December 2025’s A Safehouse in the Hills as one of the most successful updates the game has had. For those catching up, GTA+ subscriptions are also growing steadily.
That performance matters. It tells us Take-Two has no financial pressure to rush GTA 6 out or to delay it for commercial reasons. It sounds like the game is coming on November 19. Zelnick did not address when GTA 6 Online multiplayer would launch, though.
