AI-powered Chatbots are the rage nowadays. AI Tools like ChatGPT, Jasper Chat, Chatsonic, and more have become increasingly popular due to their all-round usage. Google entered the AI chatbot space when it announced its own Google Bard, a conversational AI tool during the launch of the Pixel 8 Series. Recently, Google also confirmed that a new language model, Gemini 1.0 will now power Google Bard. It comes optimized in 3 sizes and makes Bard more capable and efficient than ever before.

However, now it seems that Google is not complacent with one AI assistant as speculations are rife that the company is working on an even more powerful AI assistant exclusively for Pixel devices. The AI tool in development has been named ‘Pixie’ and it will take things a notch higher than what Bard was capable of.

Google ‘Pixie’ AI-Assistant

A report by 9to5Google claims that Google is working on an all-new Gemini-powered AI Assistant called ‘Pixie’. As the name suggests, Pixie will be exclusive to Pixel devices and might launch in 2024 alongside the Google Pixel 9 Series of smartphones. Earlier there were reports about Google working on a more affordable smartphone, but there are still no updates in that department.

What will ‘Pixie’ do?

‘Pixie’ will differ from other AI assistants (even Bard) as it will be a more personalized version of the already existing Google Assistant. Pixie will reportedly use the data from Google products like Maps, Gmail, Search, Classroom, and Meet on your smartphone to make the experience immersive.

‘Pixie’ is claimed to perform complex and multimodal tasks wherein image, text, speech, and numbers are combined to implement a specific action. For example, look for a medical store with an emergency medicine you need by sharing a picture of the medicine or look for a food product in a nearby store and contact the shopkeeper to confirm the availability before visiting the store.

Last week when Google announced Gemini Nano 1.0 for Bard, the team confirmed that upcoming models of Gemini will unlock a whole new world of possibilities in 2024. Future Gemini models might cater to ‘Pixie’ as well.

Things are in a nascent stage as of now, so we don’t know much about the capabilities of ‘Pixie’ but if Google has to roll this one out in 2024, more information is bound to surface in Q1 2024.

Stay tuned to this space for more updates.
