Google just added a new member to its Pixel smartphone lineup: the Google Pixel 9a. The Pixel 9a carries a similar design language to other Pixel 9 series models but somehow makes it more boring. But the USP of Pixels has always been to deliver the purest Android experience at a price point that mirrors iPhones.
Google Pixel 9a Specifications
The Google Pixel 9a packs a 6.3-inch pOLED display with a 2424×1080 resolution and up to a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel gets fairly bright with 1800 nits of brightness for HDR content and a peak brightness of 2700 nits, which makes it 35% brighter than the Pixel 8a.

The Pixel 9a is powered by the new Google Tensor G4 chip with the Titan M2 security coprocessor. It comes with 8GB of memory as standard and a choice of 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. The phone comes in four color options, featuring a refined and premium design with rounded edges, a matte back, and a polished aluminum frame. It also has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, compared to the IP67 ratings on the Pixel 8a.
In terms of optics, the Pixel 9a gets a new 48MP rear camera with OIS, along with a 13MP ultrawide secondary camera and a 13MP selfie camera on the front. All three cameras are capable of recording 4K videos. The phone also comes packed with camera features like Best Take, Magic Editor, and more, as well as Magic Eraser, Audio Magic Eraser, Night Sight, Astrophotography, and the new Panorama with Night Sight. The Pixel 9a also happens to be the first A-series phone to get a Macro Focus option, which lets you capture details from up close.
The Pixel 9a has a larger 5,100mAh Li-Ion battery with a claimed 30+ hours of battery life. It supports 23W fast charging while retaining support for 7.5W wireless charging. Out of the box, the Pixel 9a will run on Android 15, Google’s latest operating system for smartphones. Further, the phone should get seven years of software updates and security patches.

Google Pixel 9a Pricing & Availability
The Google Pixel 9a is priced at USD 499 for the 128GB version, and the 256GB version costs USD 599. It is said to cost Rs 49,999 in India and will be available sometime in April, with no exact sale date available as of now.
