Google is all set to launch the 2nd generation foldable on 14th August. The Google Pixel Fold 2 has been renamed as the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold and made a part of the Pixel 9 family. Now, ahead of the launch, the dimensions and weight of the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold have surfaced online which indicates that it might be slimmer than the existing Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold
A report by Android Headlines claims that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will have dimensions of 155.2×150.2×5.1mm in folded state and 155.2×77.1×10.5mm in the unfolded state. The original Pixel Fold was 139.7×158.7×5.8mm in unfolded state and 139.7×79.5×12.1mm in the folded state. The new dimensions hint towards a sleeker and larger foldable as compared to its predecessor. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 also measures 153.5×132.6×5.6mm in unfolded state and 153.5×68.1×12.1mm in folded state which means the 2nd generation foldable from Google will be slimmer than Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Talking about weight, the Pixel Fold weighed 283 grams while the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is expected to weigh 257 grams. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 weighs 226 grams while OnePlus Open weighs 239 grams. This means Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be heavier than its competitors.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is anticipated to showcase a 6.3-inch OLED cover display, complemented by an 8-inch foldable OLED screen on the inside. Both screens are expected to deliver a brightness of 1600 nits and support HDR. According to reports, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be available in dark grey, light grey, off-white, and pink hues, featuring a glossy frame paired with a matte textured back. Additionally, Google is expected to incorporate Gemini AI capabilities into the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, powered by the latest Tensor chipset.
The smartphone will retail via Flipkart.
