Like every other Google phone, the Pixel 4a and its retail boxes are just about everywhere before the official launch. And it seems the wait is about to end. As per the latest leak on the Pixel 4a emerging from Germany, the phone is all set to go on sale from May 22 with a Vodafone contract, which is one of the network service providers in Germany. The Pixel 4a could cost 399 Euros in the country (approx Rs 32,000) but India pricing is expected to be above Rs 40,000 due to higher import cost and taxes.
Before the Coronavirus outbreak brought the world to a grinding halt, Google had plans to launch the Pixel 4a at Google I/O 2020. The 4a will be a trimmed-down version of Pixel 4 which wasn’t launched in various regions including India.
Google Pixel 4a Specifications (leaked so far)
The Google Pixel 4a will include a 5.8-inch Full HD+ OLED display with 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution. There’s a punch-hole cutout on the top left corner of the screen for 8MP selfie camera which has an 84-degree field-of-view.
Various leaks confirm Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 as the driving chipset. The octa-core SoC is reasonably powerful for a mid-range phone and integrates Adreno 618 GPU. Google’s proprietary security chip – Titan M is also included.
Gogle Pixel 4’s marquee hardware Pixel Neural Core and Soli radar chip will be missing from the Pixel 3a successor. The phone is expected to come with 6GB RAM and up to 128GB storage options.
As for optics, the Pixel 4a has a single 12.2MP camera with OIS and EIS stabilization. It will be able to record videos in 4K at 30fps, 1080p at 30/60/120fps, and 720p at up to 240fps while the selfie camera can shoot Full HD videos at 30fps.
