Gionee is all set to expand its security-centric M-series next week. The company is rolling out media invites for the Gionee M6S Plus launch event which is scheduled for April 24. The phone will likely be placed in the mid-budget segment, just like the Gionee M6 and Gionee M6 Plus
The Gionee M6 and M6 Plus made their debut last year and were known for their security features. This year, Gionee is likely to up the ante and offer further enhanced security features.
Though the Gionee M6S Plus event invites do not reveal many details about the phone but it was in the news recently when it was spotted on TENAA certification site.
As per the TENNA listing, the Gionee M6S Plus will sport a 6-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080×1920 pixel resolution. Under the hood, it employs an octa-core Mediatek chipset clocked at 2GHz and is coupled with 6GB of RAM. Out of the box, the phone is likely to boot up Amigo OS which is based on dated Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
The phone is likely to offer 12-megapixel at the back and a 5-megapixel camera up front for selfies. The handset further supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 3.5mm headphone jack as connectivity options.
It features a fingerprint scanner embedded home button. Gionee M6s reportedly packs a 6,020 mAh battery under the hood, which could make it happy.
