Over the last few days, we’ve published high-quality renders and 360-degree videos of several purported handsets, including the Nothing Phone (2a) and the Google Pixel Fold 2. We even talked about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6’s 5K renders, but what about the Flip 6? For our readers interested in the upcoming flip-style foldable, we’ve partnered with @OnLeaks to present the exclusive first look at the Flip 6.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 360-Degree Video

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 looks stunning in the 360-degree video, which reveals the compact foldable in the Lavender colorway. Even though the shade is similar to the Z Flip 5’s Lavender variant, it has a slightly more subdued finish. The first 11 seconds of the video showcase the smartphone’s approx. 6.7-inch inner display, the centrally-located punch-hole camera, and bezels that are nearly identical to the predecessor’s.

The first few seconds of the video reveal the placement of the power button (which doubles as the fingerprint reader), the volume rockers, and four antenna bands, which happen to be on the right frame of the Flip 6. On the top are two antenna bands, along with what appears to be two microphones (one more than the Flip 5). Then, we have the SIM tray at the same position on the left frame, along with more antenna bands.

Lastly, the placement of the USB-C portprimary speaker, and microphones at the bottom of the Flip 6 are also similar to those on the Flip 5. When unfolded, the phone measures about 165.0 x 71.7 x 7.4mm. Going by the millimeter, there are minor changes in the length and breadth of the smartphone. However, the depth has increased from 6.9mm to 7.4mm, suggesting an impending battery size increase.

The 5K renders reveal the foldable’s flip side, which reveals the folder-shaped cover screen that retains the 3.4-inch size and a plain bottom half. Other than that, the dual-camera setup and the placement of the flash retain their positions, and so do the cover display’s bezels. There have been rumors about bigger displays on the Flip 6 in the past, but that doesn’t seem to be true.

The CAD-based 5K renders exhibit the phone in its Mint colorway. One of the renders provides a sneak peek at the phone’s hinge, with Samsung’s branding. However, it doesn’t look any different from the current generation. Another render contains the Flip 6 in its folded state, showcasing the no-gap folding mechanism.

Moreover, Samsung will retain the overall look and form factor of the current foldables, with minor changes in the dimensions. This reflects on the company’s conservative approach toward the design it has spent years improving.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 Expected Specifications

Contrary to previous rumors, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 should have screen sizes similar to the Flip 5 (review), including the 3.4-inch cover screen and the 6.7-inch inner screen. Both screens should retain their 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness. However, we’re expecting the company to get rid of the crease on the folding phones this year, or at least make them less apparent, like the OnePlus Open (review). The company might also improve upon the hinge’s durability.

Under the hood, the smartphone should run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chipset, with various memory and storage configurations. However, to spice things up, the company should equip the phone with the Galaxy AI features we saw on the Galaxy S24 series. While we expect the smartphone to carry most of the Galaxy AI features we’ve already seen, there might be a couple of foldable-specific abilities.

The Flip 6 should come with One UI 6.0 based on Android 14. Regarding optics, the foldable will come with a dual-camera setup that should retain the 12MP resolution. However, there’s one aspect that Flip 6 should significantly improve upon the battery size. Per several reports, the Flip 6 should come with a 4,000 mAh battery, improving users’ battery life issues. Further, users should also expect seven years of software updates.

Last but not least, the smartphone should be released sometime between mid-July and August at a price similar to its predecessor, i.e., $999 for the base variant with 256GB storage.
