Are you confused between the Galaxy S25 and the OnePlus 13 (review)? Here’s a detailed comparison between the smartphones, including everything about their design, screen, processors, cameras, software, and battery life. The purpose of this comparison is to help you make an informed decision between the phones.

Galaxy S25 vs. OnePlus 13: Design

Dimensions

  • Galaxy S25: 146.9 x 70.5 x 7.2 mm; 162 grams
  • OnePlus 13: 162.9 x 76.5 x 8.5 mm (or 8.9mm); 213 grams

In terms of design, the Galaxy S25 differs from the OnePlus 13 in quite a lot of ways. For instance, the former has a vertically-stacked flushed camera array on the rear, while the latter ships with a circular camera island. Even though both phones have rounded corners, Galaxy S25’s smaller footprint makes it ideal for one-handed usage.

Material

To protect the screen against scratches and drops, the Galaxy S25 features Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus 2 (both on the front and the back). In comparison, the OnePlus 13 has a Ceramic Guard covering on the front screen, which the company claims is twice as good as the Gorilla Glass Victus.

One of the OnePlus 13’s finishes, Midnight Ocean, ships with a vegan leather back panel. The side frames on both smartphones are made of aluminum (Samsung calls it the Armor Aluminum 2 frame).

IP Ratings

While the Galaxy S25 has an IP68 dust and water resistance rating, the OnePlus 13 has both an IP68 and an IP69 rating. In other words, the OnePlus 13 can survive if exposed to high-pressure water jets and high-temperature steam.

Colors

  • Galaxy S25: Iceblue, Mint, Navy, Silver Shadow, Pinkgold, Coralred, Blueblack
  • OnePlus 13: Black Eclipse, Arctic Dawn, Midnight Ocean

Galaxy S25 vs. OnePlus 13: Display

As mentioned earlier, the Galaxy S25 carries a compact form factor, implying that it offers a smaller screen. The smartphone features a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits.

With a 2,340 x 1,080 pixels resolution, the screen has a pixel density of 416 ppi. When compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy S25 features noticeably thinner bezels. You also get the always-on display functionality for glancing at time without waking up the phone’s screen.

The OnePlus 13 is more like a full-sized smartphone; it features a 6.82-inch AMOLED screen that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a local peak brightness of 4,500 nits (limited to 1,600 nits in the high brightness mode).

Even though the phone has a bigger display, it manages to pack in more pixels (3,168 x 1,440), resulting in a higher 510 ppi pixel density. Like the Galaxy S25, the OnePlus 13 also supports always-on display and HDR10+ video format.

Galaxy S25 vs. OnePlus 13: Performance

Snapdragon 8 Elite

Under the hood, the Galaxy S25 runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy (3nm) chipset. The ‘for Galaxy’ version contains two 4.47 GHz prime cores, while the regular version consists of two 4.32 GHz prime cores. The overclocked version gives the Galaxy S25 a slight edge over the OnePlus 13, but it isn’t something regular users will notice.

Both the phones come with the Adreno 830 GPU, but the one on the Galaxy S25 features a higher clock speed, along with support for Vulkan Engine API and improved ray tracing, which should result in slightly better gaming performance. Even the NPU on the ‘for Galaxy’ variant is a bit faster than that on the regular version.

The Galaxy S25 ships with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. On the other hand, the OnePlus 13 sports up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.

To give you a better idea of performance, here are the GeekBench scores of the phones. The Galaxy S25 achieves 3,175/10,050 points in the single-multi-core performance test, while the OnePlus 13 scores 3,075/9,278 points in the single/multi-core performance test.

With more memory, the OnePlus flagship should be able to retain more apps in the background. But otherwise, the Galaxy S25 should feel a tad more snappy and responsive, particularly while performing demanding tasks like 4K video editing or gaming.

Additional features include 8K 30 fps video, 4K 60 fps video, Hasselblad Portrait mode, and a Master Mode for the enthusiasts. The most recent update improves the clarity of videos and reduces the color difference between the main and the telephoto camera.

Galaxy S25 vs. OnePlus 13: Software

The Galaxy S25 runs on One UI 7 with Galaxy AI at its core. With multimodal agentic AI, the phone can now understand natural language commands and execute a multi-step process by accessing the information on the screen or in apps on the smartphone.

The Circle to Search feature can now identify call-to-action details from the screen. Then, there’s the entire suite of Galaxy AI features that help users in their day-to-day lives. Last but not least, the Galaxy S25 will get seven years of major Android and security updates.

The OnePlus 13, on the other hand, doesn’t get as many GenAI features as its competitor. OxygenOS 15 on the smartphone offers features like Circle to Search, Magic Composer (a rebranded version of Oppo’s AI writer), and an AI Recording Summary feature, which transcribes calls in multiple languages (including Hindi).

While the recent OnePlus 13 update adds AI features to Google Messages, the phone has some catching up to do. Last but not least, the flagship will receive four major Android updates, along with six years of security fixes.

Galaxy S25 vs. OnePlus 13: Battery Capacity And Charging Speed

This is an aspect where the OnePlus 13 redeems itself over the Galaxy S25, big time. The phone has a larger chassis, so it features a massive 6,000 mAh battery that supports 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

Due to its compact form factor, the Galaxy S25 has a 4,000 mAh battery that supports 25W wired and 15W wireless charging. Neither handset supports Qi2 wireless charging.

Galaxy S25 vs. OnePlus 13: Connectivity

While both the flagships feature Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth v5.4, NFC, and a USB Type-C 3.2 port, the OnePlus 13 offers an IR blaster. Globally, both phones also support sub-6 GHz and mmWave 5G networks.

The Galaxy S25 offers a compact form factor, making it easy to carry around. Further, the phone provides better performance for the times you’re editing videos or playing video games at the highest settings. It also gives you a more mature agentic AI experience than its rivals.

However, if you want a big-screen smartphone for multimedia consumption, along with a battery that easily outlasts a day or regular usage, the OnePlus 13 is the right smartphone for you. It is worth mentioning that the handset’s 512GB storage variant is more affordable than that of the Galaxy S25.
