Xiaomi Black Shark Gaming Phone With Snapdragon 845 Goes Official: Price, Specifications and Features

After featuring in a barrage of leaks, the Black Shark gaming phone (backed by Xiaomi) has officially launched at an event in China. With this, Xiaomi has churned out an alternative to Razer phone dedicated for gamers. The phone is a powerhouse in terms of specifications and that should excite the hardcore gaming audience.

Xiaomi Black Shark Features

The Black Shark phone comes bundle in a rugged design that matches its persona. The phone can be attached to a Bluetooth controller for better gameplay and boasts a liquid-cooling system to prevent overheating of the device. It also offers a LED notification lights on the rear panel, which is hidden under the “S” logo.

Up front, the Black Shark features a 5.99-inch In-Cell display with Full HD+ resolution (1080×2160 pixels). Though its aspect ratio is 18:9, the bezels are not slim, and this should perhaps work to the advantage of gamers.

The screen panel is claimed to offer a peak brightness of 550 nits, a pixel density of 403ppi, and 97% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. Regardless of this, the Black Sharp Display lacks Razor Phone-like 120GHz refresh rate.

The Black Shark derives its performance from Snapdragon 845 chipset – currently the most-qualified Application chipset in the industry – under its hood, integrated with Adreno 630 GPU. The handset comes with two LP-DDR4X RAM and UFS 2.1 storage configurations: 6GB RAM with 64GB storage and 8GB RAM with 128GB storage.

Other than its gaming nature, the Black Shark also comes with interesting photography skills. The phone flaunts 12-megapixel dual cameras at the rear with f/1.7 aperture, PDAF, and 4K video recording. Whereas its selfie camera is a 20MP shooter with f/1.7 aperture.

The software running on Xiaomi-backed Black Shark phone is not known as of now, but what we do know is that it houses a mammoth 4000mAh battery that too with support for fast charging through the USB Type-C port. The fingerprint sensor is on the front, positioned below the screen.

Xiaomi Black Shark Price and Availability

Xiaomi Balck Shark price starts from 2995 Yuan (roughly converts to Rs. 31,112 INR) for its base variant and 3499 Yuan (roughly converts to Rs. 36, 328 INR) for the other 8GB RAM variant. For the time being, the Black Shark will be available in China only.
