After a comparatively dull start of 2018, the mobile phones launch announcements picked up some steam in the month of March. From Samsung to Xiaomi and from Oppo to Vivo – all OEMs are gearing up to launch their phones in India.

Now that we moved on to the April we expect a lot of new smartphones to be announced or to hit the stores near you. Here is the list of upcoming smartphones which will be made available in India in April 2018.

1. Nokia 8 Sirocco

HMD Global has rolled out press invites in India for a media event on April 4. Though the invite doesn’t reveal much, Nokia India official website listed Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 6 (2018) suggesting their imminent India launch. At MWC 2018, HMD Global showcased its new flagship, Nokia 8 Sirocco, which has on 95 percent glass body and extremely tough stainless steel metal chassis.

The Nokia 8 Sirocco major highlights include Qualcomm 835 chipset, 6Gigs of RAM, a 2K 5.5-inch pOLED display and dual 12-megapixel rear cameras. Like Pixel 2, it’s missing the 3.5mm audio jack.

2. Nokia 7 Plus

Nokia 7 Plus will be another exciting smartphone from HMD Global which is reportedly launching on April 4. The phone has been spotted on Amazon.in and will reportedly retail exclusively on the e-commerce site.

The Nokia 7 Plus is the first Nokia branded phone to sport an 18:9 display. Although the Nokia 7 Plus boasts of 6-inch an extra tall full HD+ LCD display, the overall footprint is similar to any regular 5.5-inch display phone. The Nokia 7 Plus innards include Snapdragon 660 chipset, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage and the same rear camera setup as the Nokia 8 Sirocco.

3. New Nokia 6 (2018)

The Nokia 6 2018 also made its international debut at the same event MWC 2018 as the Nokia 7 Plus and it is possible that HMD Global repeats the same on April 4. The refreshed version of Nokia 6 comes with (much needed) improved innards.

The Nokia 6 2018 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset, 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of storage. It features a 16-megapixel rear camera with ZEISS optics. The new Nokia 6 features a fingerprint sensor at the back.

4. Huawei P20 Pro

Recently Huawei put out a ‘coming sooon in India’ teaser on its official website hinting that the P20 Pro will be debuting in India sooner than expected. The triple o in ‘sooon’ almost confirms the P20 Pro India launch however the actual release date is still a mystery.

The 2018 flagship from Huawei flaunts a triple camera setup at the back which apparently DxO mark has rated as the best mobile camera phone in the market today. Apart from 40MP+8MP+20MP rear camera setup, it rocks a 6.1-inch full HD+ OLED notch display from LG, Kirin 970 processor, 6GB RAM,128GB storage and 3,400mAh battery. We expect Huawei P20 Pro to launch in India sometime in the third week of April.

5. Asus Zenfone 5

At MWC 2018, Asus announced the Zenfone 5 (first impression) and at that time it said the phone will become globally available in the month of April. Asus is expected to launch this phone later this month and it is likely to challenge Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 Pro.

The most striking feature is perhaps is iPhone X like a notch. The phone comes with 19:9 aspect ratio 6.2-inch display, however, it has the same footprint as its predecessor. Apart from Notch Display, the company is really upbeat about it AI features. The Zenfone 5 rocks a Snapdragon 636 chipset, up to 6GB RAM, and dual camera setup at the back.

6. OnePlus 6

OnePlus 6 has been in the news for some time, however, whispers of an early launch picked up steam ever since company’s CEO Carl Pei openly talked about its Notch Display. The company’s official social handles have also started putting out teaser which further fuels the early release chatter.

Earlier in the day, OnePlus put out a video teaser where ‘OnePlus 6’ label and upcoming superhero flick ‘Marvel’s Infinity War’ are showcased together which gives an impression that the company could time the launch close to movie’s official release date i.e. April 27.

Talking about OnePlus 6 features, Pete Lau previously confirmed that the phone will house Snapdragon 845 inside.  It is likely to come with 6GB and 8GB RAM along with 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage options.

7. Asus Zenfone 5Z

Alongside the Zenfone 5, Asus also showcased a flagship device – the Zenfone 5Z which packs ‘top notch’ display and hardware. Although at MWC announcement, Asus said that the Zenfone 5Z will become available in June 2018 but industry rumors are telling us that I could prepone its India launch. As per latest rumors, Asus could launch Zenfone 5Z alongside the Zenfone 5 but it will only be available later in May.

The Zenfone 5Z enthrals the Snapdragon 845 mobile platform which is assisted by up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256 GB storage. The phone features a dual rear camera setup of a 12-megapixel main sensor coupled with 8-megapixel of secondary sensor. It features a 6.1-inch OLED display, 3,300mAh battery with fast charging support and runs Android Oreo-based ZenUI.
