Nokia 4.2 launched in India with Android One and Dual Rear Cameras

HMD Global has finally launched the Nokia 4.2 in India, 2 months after its official debut at MWC 2019. The Nokia 4.2 is an affordable phone powered by Series 400 Qualcomm chipset that sports a waterdrop notch. It is part of Google’s Android One programme and also has a dedicated Google Assistant button to trigger the smart AI.

Nokia 4.2 Features

Nokia 4.2 sports a trendy waterdrop notch on a 5.71-inch HD+ (720×1520 pixels) display with 19:9 aspect ratio and 270PPI. This cutout atop houses an 8MP selfie snapper on the front as well with an f/2.0 aperture. This camera could facilitate face unlock as a biometric option.

Flip to the back, you’ll get a circular capacitive fingerprint sensor. Right above is a vertical camera panel with a 13MP primary sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP secondary sensor with an f/2.2 aperture coupled with an LED light. The Nokia logo’s sweet nostalgia and Android One branding are also nice to see at the back.

Nokia 4.2 wields the power of octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset, paired with Adreno 505 GPU and 3GB of RAM. You get 32GB internal storage out of the box paired with a microSD card slot expandable up to 400GB. The phone stays alive on a 3000mAH battery.

An interesting implementation on this phone is the placement of a notification light in the power button. As already mentioned, it comes with a dedicated Google Assistant button. Other important specifications include a Micro-USB 2.0 port, 3.5mm audio jack, NFC Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, FM radio, 4G, and VoLTE as well as VoWiFi support.

The 3GB + 32GB variant of Nokia 4.2 is currently available for Rs. 10,990 exclusively via Nokia online store for a week. You could grab it in two colors – Black and Pink Sand.

According to HMD Global, from May 14, it will also become available via select retail outlets including Croma, Reliance, Sangeetha, Poorvika, Big C, and MyG. And from May 21, it would be on the shelves of all major retail outlets across the country.

As for the launch offers,

  • You could get Rs. 500 instant discount on the purchase of Nokia 4.2 via the company’s online store for a limited time until June 10, 2019. All you need to do is to use promo code – LAUNCHOFFER and the discount would be applied.
  • Furthermore, Vodafone Idea subscribers could avail Rs. 2,500 instant cashback by way of 50 vouchers of Rs. 50 each.
  • HMD Global is also giving a free screen replacement offer, which will be valid for six months.
