Asus unveils World’s 1st foldable Zenbook 17 Fold Laptop & ROG Gaming Router

Asus has unveiled a host of new laptops during the ongoing CES 2022 along with ROG Gaming Router. However, what made head turns is the world’s first foldable laptop Zenbook 17 Fold which was also showcased at the annual event. The company also unveiled the Zenbook 14X OLED Space Edition. The Zenbook 14X OLED Space laptop is a part of the company’s 25th-anniversary celebration of the first Asus laptop sent into space. Let us have a look at the specs of these newly launched products:

Asus Zenbook 17 Fold Specs

Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED comes with a foldable 17.3-inch OLED panel with 500 nits of peak brightness and a 0.2ms response time. The touchscreen has a 4:3 aspect ratio and can be used in laptops, PC, tablets as well as book modes. The 17.3-inch screen can be folded to become a 12.5-inch screen that will give 1920×1280 pixels and a 3:2 aspect ratio.

Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED is powered by 12th gen Intel Core i7 CPU clocked at 1.1GHz paired with Intel Iris Xe Graphics. It comes with a configuration of 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD. The laptop comes with a Harman Kardon quad-speaker Dolby Atmos Audio System. A smart amplifier claims to maximize volume by up to 3.5x louder than a standard amplifier, Asus claims. The laptop can be paired with an ErgoSense Bluetooth keyboard when used in PC mode.

A built-in microphone is presently paired with Asus AI noise cancellation technology. It employs machine learning to isolate unwanted noise from human speech. The foldable laptop also features a 5MP web camera with an IR function to support Windows Hello.

Connectivity options on this new laptop include WiFi 6E, USB Type-C ports, 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports, Bluetooth v5.2, and a 3.5mm audio combo port. There is also a USB Type-C to USB Type-A adapter and Asus Mini Dock Plus with the laptop. The laptop weighs 1.65kg.

Asus Zenbook 14X OLED Space Edition Specs

The Asus Zenbook 14X OLED Space Edition is powered by a 12th Gen Intel Core i9 processor clocked at 2.5GHz paired with Iris Xe graphics. The laptop is equipped with 32GB LPDDR5 RAM and a 1TB SSD onboard. It comes with a backlit chiclet keyboard, 720p HD camera with privacy shutter, Harman Kardon speaker, and an array of microphones with Cortana and Alexa voice recognition support.

If we talk about display, Zenbook 14X OLED Space sports a 14-inch 2.8K OLED display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 0.2ms response time, and 550 nits of peak brightness. The display is VESA certified and claims to emit up to 70% lesser harmful blue light. The device has a 92% screen-to-body ratio with a secondary 3.5-inch OLED ZenVivio smart display on the lid.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, an HDMI 2.0 output, 2 Thunderbolt 4 USB Type-C ports, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, a 3.5mm audio port, and a micro SD slot. It weighs 1.3 kg.

Asus ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000 Gaming Router

Asus has launched the Asus ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000 which it claims is the world’s 1st quad-band-2.4GHz, two 5GHz bands, and 6GHz-WiFi 6E gaming router. It features a Broadcom WiFi Chipset and CPU for accelerated data transfers and an optimized gaming experience. The Router comes with Asus RF technology along with RangeBoost Plus for improved Wi-Fi signal range. Connectivity options include dual 10Gbps ports, a 2,5Gbps WAN port, and 4 1Gbps LAN ports.
