Asus 6Z (review) which was an impressive package, to begin with, gets even better with the Android 10 (review) sweetness. The Taiwanese brand is rolling out the update currently. Asus 6Z’s AOSP-like ZenUI 6 will now support system-wide dark mode, new navigation gestures, and gets sturdier privacy measures. Speaking of which, the changelog doesn’t include the October security patch, however.

The update version 17.1810.1910.63_M3.18.40.6_20191028 is being released in phases. So, you may get the new Android version any day now. The download package is sized around 1.87GB. So, if you don’t want to wait for the OTA notification, you could sideload by downloading the file from the official page.

It’s just not India. The update is reaching Zenfone 6 (Global name of Asus 6Z) users too.

Anyhow, once you update and reboot the device, here are few of the new highlight features that you could expect:

  • New Gesture-based Navigation
  • System-wide dark theme
  • New Permission manager with granular control, especially for Location data sharing
  • Adaptive notifications that arrange notifications depending on their priority.
  • Even more productive digital wellbeing with focus mode
  • Auto-suggested smart replies to notifications

You get these and more baked right into Asus’s proprietary UI. The ZenUI 6 slopes on the lighter side, as far as Android skins go. However, that’s one just attribute of the phone, which ships with top-end hardware. The phone helms a Snapdragon 855 brute force, coupled with 5000mAh battery, a flipping 48MP camera module and more.
