The iPhone maker is gearing up to release another innovative and powerful product, the Vision Pro mixed reality headset. According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple’s Vision Pro mixed-reality headset won’t launch in the United States until March 2024.

Vision Pro To Launch Sometime Around March 2024

The company needs more time for final testing and finalizing the distribution plans. Unlike other Apple devices, the Vision Pro won’t be available at third-party stores or what we commonly refer to as authorized Apple partners. Instead, the premium headset will only be available from Apple’s stores.

The Mixed Reality Headset Will Be An Apple Store Exclusive

In addition, the company is also expected to adopt a different marketing strategy for its first mixed-reality headset, wherein it will limit access to all users who walk into its stores, reserving demos for those who booked an appointment in advance.

Another reason behind keeping the device exclusive to Apple stores is the logistical limitations that come with storing a variety of Zeiss prescription lenses that the company plans to pair with its mixed-reality headset.

We Might See The Device In Another Apple Event

Apple is also expected to showcase the device again at its Spring event next year. However, this time, the company will tease the operating system and apps it has developed.

Most recently, Telegram uploaded a teaser of how the messaging app would look on visionOS, the operating system that powers the Vision Pro headset. The most striking features of the app appear to be the translucent window, floating buttons for profile, call, and settings, and how the full-screen animations appear.

Apple Is Also Working On Two More Versions Of Vision Pro

Previously, Apple was aiming to launch the product in January 2024, starting the new year with some hype and a possible boost in revenue. However, that is not likely the case anymore. Nonetheless, as with every Apple product, the company wants to get the launch done right, not fast, and as a result, it is taking all it needs.

We already know that the development team has begun exploring the possibility of other Vision Pro iterations, including one affordable model and one that will succeed the Vision Pro with a lighter form factor.
