TL; DR
  • Apple raised US trade-in values for all four iPhone 16 models, all current iPad models, and select Apple Watch and Mac devices as of May 27, 2026.
  • The standard iPhone 16 received the largest increase at $25, while Mac trade-ins are mixed, with the Mac Studio gaining $70 and the Mac Pro dropping $45.
  • No official or reputable source has confirmed a corresponding trade-in value update for Apple’s India programme.

In a pro-consumer move, Apple has updated its trade-in estimates in the United States, increasing the value of old products. If anyone currently owns an iPhone 16 (review) or an iPad and wants to upgrade to the latest models, now is the time.

It could also be said that the company increased the trade-in value of its products in time for the iPhone 18 upgrade cycle, but we’re still four months away from the September launch event.

iPhones Attract More Trade-In Value Than Before

The standard iPhone 16 gets the healthiest trade-in value bump at $25. Every other iPhone 16 model rises by $10. Along with that, iPad values are up across all models, with the iPad Pro getting the highest increase. Apple Watch, on the other hand, gets mixed treatment. The Ultra 2 and Series 9 both rise in value, while the original Apple Watch Ultra actually drops by $10.

Mac trade-in story is similar to that of the Apple Watch. While the Mac Studio gains $70, the Mac Pro drops by $45. Unfortunately, Android trade-in offers have also been trimmed down.

Have The Revisions Taken Place In India As Well?

Unfortunately, no. Apple India’s trade-in programs work independently from those in the United States. Valuations are handled differently, based on the pricing and the demand in the refurbished market of the country.

For now, there are no confirmed records or reports of revised trade-in values in India.
