While enthusiasts expected Google to release Android 15 with the Pixel 9 series, that couldn’t happen. Since then, all Android users have been waiting for the next big upgrade and the new features that it will bring along. Most recently, the California-based giant confirmed that Android 15 will be available sometime in October. Now, a new report by Android Headlines gives us more information to go by.

New Settings App Groups Related Options Together
According to the publication, Android 15 QPR1 has recently got a second beta build. While that’s a good sign, as everyone is waiting for the operating system to come out next month, there seems to be a major change in the second beta. Apparently, the Settings app in Android 15 isn’t the same as we’ve seen so far – it has undergone a redesign.
The new Settings app in Android 15 seems to group related preferences or the settings options that users often use together (or are related to each other) together. As seen in the screenshots shared by 9To5Google, the Network & Internet and Connected Devices options are grouped together. Further, the Apps, Notifications, Sound & Vibrations, Display & Touch, and Wallpaper & Style menus are also grouped in a virtual tile.
Further, the virtual tiles are separated by physical gaps in between, showcasing the related settings more prominently. While the grouping makes it easier for users to locate related settings, it would also trouble those who are in the habit of tapping at a particular place in the Settings app to access a specific setting. Anyway, the grouping will indeed organize the Settings app.

There’s A New Keyboard Switcher Button As Well
Besides the redesigned Settings app, the second beta of Android 15 QPR1 also comes with a new keyboard switcher button. The button, in the form of a new globe icon, appears when users have more than one keyboard app installed on their Android phones.
What’s more, the button lets users switch directly to the next keyboard instead of showing a menu that contains a list of all the keyboard apps. It’s not like you can’t view all the installed apps: the list appears by long-pressing the globe icon.
If Google decides to keep these changes, and it is most likely to, these will come out as part of the stable Android 15 update in October. Stay tuned for more details about the latest Android versions.
