The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 has kicked off today in New Delhi. The first day was marked by major launches from renowned automakers like Hyundai, Maruti, Tata, Skoda, and MG. Here’s a quick rundown of today’s major releases, including the new Hyundai Staria, Creta Electric, Maruti e-Vitara, Tata Sierra ICE, 2025 Skoda Kodiaq, and the MG Cyberster.

Hyundai Debuts Staria, A Premium Alternative To Kia Carnival

The Korean automaker Hyundai has revealed the Staria MPV in India. Among the vehicle’s unique selling propositions is its ability to accommodate up to 11 people. The MPV ships with either a 3.5-liter petrol engine (272 PS, 331 Nm, 8-speed AT) or a 2.2-liter diesel engine (177 PS, 431 Nm, 6-speed MT, or 8-speed AT transmission).

The exterior of the vehicle isn’t as happening as much as the interior. While the front fascia is characterized by LED DRLs, pixelated headlights, and vertically-stacked tail lamps on the rear, the rear sliding doors give away its MPV nature. On the inside, the vehicle offers features like a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, up to seven airbags, ambient lighting, ADAS, and multiple seating configurations (7, 9, and 11-seater options).

Although the Hyundai Staria’s launch isn’t confirmed yet, the vehicle could cost around Rs. 65 lakhs (ex-showroom) in India.

Hyundai Creta EV Prices Revealed

At the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, Hyundai also revealed the price of its most-anticipated EV, the Creta Electric. The EV will be available in four models: Executive (Rs. 17.99 lakhs), Smart (Rs. 18.99 lakhs), Premium (Rs. 19.99 lakhs), and Excellence (Rs. 23.49 lakhs). Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara Breaks Cover

The Bharat Mobility Globa Expo also saw the launch of the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara, the company’s first electric SUV. It will be built on Maruti’s new HEARTECT-e platform, which frees up maximum interior space while housing the battery in a lightweight structure that provides high-voltage protection.

The e-Vitara has two battery pack options: 49 kWh and 61 kWh, the latter offering a claimed range of up to 500 kilometers. Interestingly, Maruti has equipped the vehicle with a 4WD system (called ALLGRIP-e), something that isn’t available on other models in the segment. Thanks to the system, the car offers features like Trail Mode for getting out of the rough patches and 300 Nm of torque.

Cabin features include dual-integrated screens, a two-spoke steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, a wireless charger, a 360-degree camera, and connected car tech. While the company hasn’t revealed the price of the vehicle, it might start from Rs. 17 lakhs (ex-showr0om) for the smaller battery pack and go all the way up to Rs. 26 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the AWD model.

Tata Sierra Returns In A New ICE Variant

After months of anticipation, the Tata Sierra has finally returned to the Indian market in a new avatar. For now, the new Sierra comes with a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine (170 PS, 280 Nm) and a 2-liter diesel engine (170 PS, 350 Nm); however, the company should also unveil an EV variant of the SUV soon.

Featuring modern design elements like connected LED DRLs and tail lights, integrated headlights, a broad front grill (with aggressive bottom cladding), flush door handles, and new alloys, the Sierra still carries its original silhouette. The vehicle’s interiors have taken a big leap, though, both in terms of design and features.

The triple-screen setup for front passengers (recently seen on the Mahindra XEV 9e) can also be seen on the new 2025 Tata Sierra. Further, the vehicle gets a four-spoke illuminated steering wheel and vibrant yellow accents on the dashboard. Additional features include a panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, six airbags standard across all models, ESC, and ADAS.

While Tata has announced the Sierra ICE, the prices are still under the curtains. However, reports suggest the vehicle’s price might start from Rs. 10.50 lakhs (ex-showroom, likely for the turbo-petrol variant).

Stealth Edition Of Safari And Harrier EV

At the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, the Indian automaker Tata Motors revealed a new stealth edition of the Safari ICE and Harrier EV. Even though the company has yet to unveil the battery pack and motor details of the Harrier EV, it has showcased the vehicle (along with the regular Safari) with a new matte black exterior. Even the interiors follow a dark theme.

While the Stealth edition gets blacked-out front grills, air dams, and bumpers, the other elements, like connected DRLs and side profile, remain the same as that of the regular version (except the dual-tone alloys on the Harrier EV).

Some cabin features of the Safari ICE and Harrier EV Stealth Edition include a dual-screen design for the instrument cluster and infotainment unit, dual-zone climate control, wireless charger, up to seven airbags, and Level 2 ADAS features.

Skoda Unveils 2025 Kodiaq With Upmarket Interiors

Don’t let the exteriors of the 2025 Kodiaq fool you, as the main updates on the new-generation vehicle are on the inside. To kick things off, the Czech automaker has equipped the vehicle with sleeker LED headlamps and a revamped bumper with a honeycomb mesh design. Skoda has also added two new air intakes below the headlights.

When compared to the previous generation, the 2025 Kodiaq comes with 20-inch alloys on the side, along with a slightly tapered roofline. The rear bumper also gets new C-shaped taillights, along with aggressive cladding at the bottom. While those are standard updates, the interiors of the new Skoda Kodiaq will take you aback.

With a new 13-inch freestanding touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, Skoda’s branding on the two-spoke steering wheel, and a three-layered dashboard, the Kodiaq looks like a brand-new car from the inside. The gear stalk is now located behind the steering wheel, clearing out more space on the center console.

For the first time, the vehicle comes with a heads-up display, which is yet another useful feature. Additional features include adaptive cruise control, lane assist, parking assist, and ESC. With sleeker exteriors and new interiors, the 2025 Skoda Kodiaq will start from Rs. 45 lakhs (ex-showroom). It will feature a 2-liter turbo petrol engine (190 PS, 320 Nm) paired with a seven-speed DCT transmission.

Skoda Octavia vRS Goes Official, Too

The Bharat Mobility Global expo also witnessed the debut of the Skoda Octavia vRS with a powerful 2-liter turbo petrol engine (265 PS, 370 Nm) coupled with a seven-speed DCT transmission. When compared to the standard Octavia, the vRS version comes with a lowered suspension setup for added stability, along with dynamic chassis control. While the vehicle’s top speed is limited to 250 kmph, it also offers enhanced braking power.

On the outside, the facelift gets a blacked-out front grill, bottom cladding, matrix LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a revised rear bumper for the added sporty look. On the inside, the vehicle gets a three-spoke steering wheel with the company’s branding, a layered dashboard design (with red accents and stitching on the seats), a 13-inch infotainment screen, electronic front seats with ventilation, dual-zone air conditioner, and a panoramic sunroof.

Like the Kodiaq, the Octavia vRS might start from Rs. 45 lakhs (ex-showroom).

MG Reveals Cyberster And M9 EVs

The MG Cyberster, a flagship sports EV, comes with sweptback headlamps, butterfly doors, massive alloy wheels on the side, and an optional soft-top roof model. The Cyberster is so powerful that it can reach from zero to 100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds (thanks to a two-motor setup that produces a combined power of 510 bhp and torque of 725 Nm). Further, the vehicle offers an all-electric range of 510 kilometers.

Another Kia Carnival rival showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo is the MG M9. The electric MPV will be available in six and seven seating options, with a minimalist exterior design that contains LED DRLs and 19-inch alloy wheels. On the inside, the vehicle features an integrated infotainment system with three screens.

Additional features include a panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, a 12-speaker sound system, seven airbags, and a 360-degree camera system. With a 90 kWh battery pack, the vehicle generated 244 Ps of power and 350 Nm of peak torque, along with a claimed range of 430 kilometers.
