After a long wait, Nokia has now confirmed the launch of a new smartphone that runs Android OS out-of-the-box. Of course, rumors of Nokia releasing an Android smartphone have been around for a while, but now we have the official confirmation to affirm it.
We had noticed last year that the brand made its way through to the android market with their N1 tablet and by the end of this year, they are expected to show up again with a smartphone and that can very well be the Nokia C1.
Handsets with Nokia tag on them have always been sturdy ones, and we expect C1 to be no different. As per the leaked images, the handset looks appealing with a full metal unibody chassis, which further assert our assumption regarding the firm build.
In terms of specification, the handset is expected to flaunt a 5.5-inch full HD (1080x1920) IPS LCD display. The Nokia C1 is allegedly powered by di-cluster (four 1.8GHz Cortex-A72 + four 1.4GHz Cortex-A53) octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 2GB RAM, 32GB onboard multimedia storage and an Adreno 510 GPU. The handset runs Android 6.0(Marshmallow) out-of-the-box.
In terms of optics, Nokia C1 is rumored to sport a 13 MP resolution rear shooter alongside a LED flash and a 5 MP resolution Selfie snapper.
The handset is fueled by a non-removable Li-Ion battery (nothing has been disclosed regarding the size of the battery). Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, A-GPS, GLONASS and microUSB 2.0.
We expect the rumors of its release to materialize by the end of this year. Nothing has been officially confirmed regarding Nokia C1 price in India. However, the price is expected to stay around 18,000 INR.
