In a recent series of events, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has allowed Indian residents to update their Aadhaar card details without paying any charges until June 14. To update the information on the Aadhaar card, citizens are supposed to pay a fee of Rs 50.

Nonetheless, now all Indian citizens will be able to make changes to their Aadhar card information until June 14, 2023, for free. These changes could be anything like date of birth, name, mobile number, gender, address, name, and more. Apart from that, if you want to change your iris or other biometric details, then you need to go to the Aadhaar enrollment center and pay the mentioned amount of fee.

Reason to update the Aadhaar card details

According to the latest rules, the Aadhaar governing body, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), has said that it is mandatory for all residents to update their Aadhaar details every 10 years. In addition to that, the government also has introduced new guidelines for the Aadhaar card details updation of children.

As per the mandate, the residents will be supposed to provide the biometrics for updates when the child crosses the age of 15 years. The mandate will primarily focus on the accuracy of the documents linked with Aadhaar. The updation of the details will make sure that the government provides Aadhaar-related services along with enhancing the Aadhaar authentication success rate.

In order to change the mentioned details, you just need to visit the official website of Aadhaar. After that, you are supposed to visit the My Aadhaar section of the website, where you will see the ‘Update Your Aadhaar’ option, and by selecting it, you will be able to make the mentioned changes for free.
