As per the Geekbech listing, The Xiaomi Redmi Y3 features an msm6953 SoC which is more popular by the name of Snapdragon 625. Since Xiaomi often makes jokes about its love for the Snapdragon 625 at launch events, so is it their a real possibility?

Well, it is very unlikely, especially after a tweet from Manu Kumar Jain, VP Xiaomi Global condemning the use of year old chips. In his tweet, Mr. Jain questioned another brand for using a year old chipset.

Well hasn’t yet updated its database for the new chip and wrongly identifies the Snapdragon 632 as the msm8953. If you recall, Geekbench also mistakenly identified Moto G7 Play’s Snapdragon 632 as Snapdragon 625.
