Xiaomi Redmi S2 With Dual-Camera and Android Oreo Spotted On TENAA

More information flows in about Xiaomi forthcoming device S-series device, hinting at imminent launch. Its Redmi S2 that was earlier leaked in the firmware files, made the appearance again, and this time on the Chinese certification site, TENAA. There, the phone was spotted with model number M1803E6E along with its specifications.

Xiaomi Redmi S2 Features

The renders of the Redmi S2 suggest a unibody build, dual-rear camera setup, the fingerprint sensor on the back, and design which is reminiscent of Redmi Note 5 Pro (launched in February 2018).

Further, the leak revealed that the Redmi S2 features a 5.99-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) TFT display with an 18:9 screen aspect ratio and employs a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, paired with Adreno 506 GPU and 2GB/ 3GB/4GB of RAM options.

The Redmi S2’s dual-rear camera setup boasts a 12-megapixel Sony IMX486/ OmniVision OV12A10 primary sensor and a 5-megapixel Samsung S5K5E8 secondary sensor. Both coupled with LED flashlight and EIS. While at the front, it has a 16-megapixel selfie shooter.

Other features of Redmi S2 include 16GB/32GB/64GB storage option, MIUI 9 topping on Android Oreo, 3080mAh battery, and connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS/ A-GPS. According to the listing, the Redmi S2 measures 160.73×77.26×8.1mm and weighs 170 grams.

Xiaomi Redmi S2 Launch Date and Availability

There are no official words yet, but the leak suggests that the Redmi S2 launch should take place soon. The launch will be first in China and then will be rolled out to other countries including India.

Looking at the specifications, Redmi S2 looks like other budget devices from Xiaomi and is likely to be available in Black, Rose Gold, Gold, White, Blue, Red, Pink, Gray, and Silver color options.
