It’s been more than 8 months since Xiaomi launched its first ever smartphone featuring a dual camera setup, the Redmi Pro, on its home turf – China. While the Indian market is still awaiting the same, a recent Weibo post has emerged that has all but confirmed that its successor, to be apparently called the Redmi Pro 2 is in the offing.

The post contained a snapshot of the phone’s poster and revealed some useful in information regarding its design, price, and specifications.

By the looks of it, the Pro 2 features a much larger display as compared to its predecessor and contains ultra-slim bezels on the two sides edges as well. Apart from that, it features a rear-mounted fingerprint that isn’t spherical in shape.

As far as the phone’s specifications are concerned, the poster seemingly revealed that the phone will be out in two storage variants with one having 6GB RAM and 128GB primary storage and the other one featuring 4GB RAM and 64GB storage capacity.

Along with that, the Redmi Pro 2 is most likely to feature a powerful 4500mAh battery and a single 12MP Sony IMX362 sensor on its back, thereby ditching the dual camera setup that the Redmi Pro offered.

Both the variants of the phone are expected to come out in the market carrying different price tags. The poster lists the price of the 4GB RAM variant as 1599 yuan (approx. Rs. 15,700) whereas the price of the other one (6GB RAM) has been listed as 1799 yuan (approx. Rs. 17,700).

Unfortunately, the post could reveal only so much about the Redmi Pro 2 and since the authenticity of both the ‘leakster’ as well as the information it puts across cannot be confirmed yet, we suggest you take it with a grain of salt until and unless some official word comes out.
