The Redmi Pro belongs to the affordable range of Xiaomi smartphones, and thus the presence of AMOLED display and a dual camera setup is interesting, to say the least. Other enticements include a fingerprint sensor, metal body, Marshmallow based MIUI 8 software, and a deca-core MediaTek Helio X25 chipset - if flaunting more cores is your thing.
On the front, Redmi Pro bears design semblance with the Mi 5 and also has a physical home button (that integrates a fingerprint sensor). On the rear, it is more like the Redmi Note 3 with 2 camera sensors (13MP Sony main camera and 5MP Samsung depth sensor) symmetrically lined in the center.
The Redmi Pro caches on the ImagiQ ISP advantage. This new ISP, which finds room in most of the new MediaTek chips, has been specially designed to aid dual cameras. It is capable enough for real-time depth sensing, and thus your camera viewfinder can show you how the final bokeh might look like before you press the capture button.
The deca-core Helio X25 has 2 high performance Cortex A72 cores, apart from 2 clusters of Cortex A53 cores. A Helio X20 variant is also avaiable for those further restricted by a budget. Further complicating things are different RAM and Storage variants - 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, 3GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 4GB RAM + 128GB storage.
Of course you can also add secondary MicroSD card storage if you compromise on the second SIM card slot. Other features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C and 4000 mAh battery.
