Xiaomi has had a quiet start this year but a tweet by its India PR head, Clinton Jeff, indicated that it is all set to change next month, i.e February 2018. (Read in Hindi)

Although the tweet didn’t reveal any of Xiaomi’s plans, it won’t be a far stretch to presume that Xaiomi could launch Redmi 5 Plus or some other Redmi 5 series phones (Redmi Note 5?) in India next month. This could be the successor of its highly-popular Redmi Note 4 device.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Explorer Program?

Prior to the official launch, Xiaomi could release the device under its Explorer Program. In its Explorer program, Xiaomi involves Mi fans to explore an upcoming device before its official unveiling.

Xiaomi has been running the campaign for its past two Redmi Note devices. In 2016, for Redmi Note 3, the company recruited 100 Mi Fans under the Mi generation program, and in the following year, they had an army of 50 hardcore Mi Fans test and explore Redmi Note 4 before its official launch. Xiaomi might commence Redmi Note 5 explorer program very soon.
