With over 1 million units sold over a short period of 45 days, the new Redmi Note 4 (Full Review) is already quite a rage online and now Xiaomi will also be pitching it at offline retails stores, albeit for a higher starting price of 11,499 INR (about Rs. 1500 more than the online starting price).

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Review Indian Variant (2)

This isn’t the first instance of Xiaomi moving offline. Many of its past successes and a custom Redmi 3s variant, the Redmi 3s Plus, have had offline presence too.

The online market is a good platform to “disrupt” and grab headlines, but over the past couple of years, it has become increasingly clear that competing at razor thin margins online isn’t sustainable in the long run.

In India, the offline market is still the king as has been proven repeatedly by the success of players like Oppo, Gionee, and Vivo, and it’s increasingly becoming important for star online brands to have an offline base as well.
