Xiaomi has released yet another addition to its portfolio of budget phones with its new Redmi series phone: the Redmi 4X (which isn’t same as the Redmi Note 4X that debuted a while back). The phone was unveiled alongside the company’s Mi 5c smartphone which is its first offering featuring its own chipset.
Delving into the hardware, there is an all-metal unibody with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, strongly reminiscent of the tide of phones the company has recently brought out.

The newest member of the Xiaomi family flaunts a 5-inch HD display that is guarded by a 2.5D curved screen on the top. Drawing power from a 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 SoC that is supported by an Adreno 505 GPU, the phone is available in two RAM and ROM variants.

The first variant features a 2GB RAM and has an inbuilt storage capacity of 16GB while the other one has a 3GB RAM with 32GB primary ROM. While we are at it, the primary storage capacities of both the phones can be stretched using microSD cards.
On the camera front, the Redmi 4X carries a 12MP snapper having features such as PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens, on the back and has a 5MP one up front having f/2.2 aperture.
On the inside, the phone runs on Android Marshmallow-based MIUI 8 and packs in a mammoth 4,100mAh power unit, which, according to Xiaomi, can last two full days and has a 15-hour continuous video playing capacity.

The 2GB variant of the Redmi 4X comes with a price tag of RMB 699 (Approx. Rs. 6,800), whereas the other one (3GB) has been priced at RMB 899 (Approx. Rs. 8,800).
