Soon after the global launch of its first Android One smartphone, the Mi A1, Xiaomi has launched the much awaited Bezel-less Mi Mix 2 and the Mi Note 3 at its home turf. Along with these two flagship devices, Xiaomi also announced its Mi book Pro laptop.
Mi Mix 2 Specifications and Highlights
The key highlight of the Mi Mix 2 is its (almost) bezel-less 5.99-inch large display. The handset boasts of a 93 percent of screen-to-body ratio. The forehead is full display and thus the front camera sensor, earpiece or usual proximity sensor are mounted below the display.
Just like the last year’s Mi Mix, Xiaomi uses an ultrasound proximity sensor and piezoelectric speaker that uses the metal frame to generate sound. Like its predecessor, the selfie camera has been placed beneath display on the chin. And also, the Mi Mix 2 chin is 12 percent slimmer than its predecessor. The phone has a ceramic body with rounded edges on all sides. Xiaomi is also offering a free case with the phone.
The phone comes with 18:9 aspect ratio full HD+ display (2160x1080p), Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, and 6GB RAM. The phone will be available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage options.
A special edition Mi Mix 2 with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage will also retail later.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 has the same camera as the Mi 6. It comes with Sony IMX386 sensor along with a 4-axis optical image stabilization. The phone comes running on Android Nougat based Miui 9. The phone packs a 3,400mAh battery with quick charge 3.0 support.
Xiaomi has also announced a special edition of the Mi Mix 2 which boasts massive 8GB RAM and along with 128GB internal storage. Rest of the specifications remains the same.
Xiaomi mentioned that the Mi Mix 2 supports 43 global network bands which are most network bands supported by a smartphone. The phone also supports MIMO network aggregation technology.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Price (expected price in India)
The Mi Mix 2 price for China is set at RMB 3,299 for 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM (approx. Rs. 32,999 in India), RMB 3599 for 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM (approx. Rs.35,499 in India) and RMB 3999 for 6GB RAM = 256GB ROM (approx. Rs. 39,999 in India). The Mi Mix 2 Spcial Edition is priced at RMB 46,99 which roughly translates to Rs. 46,000.
