Xiaomi launches Redmi Note 9 in India starting at Rs 11,999

A couple of months after global unveiling, Xiaomi has finally launched Redmi Note 9 in India at the starting price of Rs 11,999. Redmi Note 9 ships with pro-gaming MediaTek G85 processor, 48MP quad cameras, 5020mAh battery, and a 6.53-inch FHD+ dot (notch) display.

Redmi Note 9 Price and Availability

The base variant 4GB + 64GB of Redmi Note 9 is priced at Rs 11,999, the mid variant 4GB + 128GB is priced at Rs 13,499 and the top model 6GB + 128GB will cost Rs 14,999. The phone comes in four color options- Pebble Grey, Scarlet Red, Aqua Green, and Arctic White. The devices will go on sale from July 24 through Amazon, Mi.com, and offline retail partners.

Redmi Note 9 Features

The Redmi Note 9 has a notch-less 6.53-inch FHD+ dot display with an aspect ratio of 19:5:9. The phone is powered by the gaming-centric Helio G85 octa-core processor paired with MediaTek HyperEngine. Xiaomi claims a smooth PUBG gameplay experience with an improved performance of 21% compared to the Snapdragon 665 processor. 

Note 9 comes with three storage options- 4GB RAM + 64GB internal, 4GB RAM + 128GB internal, and 6GB with 128GB internal storage. The memory can be expanded up to 512GB via microSD card.

For photography, Redmi Note offers a quad-camera array with a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor (118° FoV), a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. The punch-hole cut out houses a 13MP in-display selfie camera.

The battery of Redmi Note 9 is 5020mAh supporting 22.5W fast charging. The handset has a capacitive fingerprint scanner positioned right below the camera. Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, IR blaster, NFC, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
