Xiaomi, is already well-known for its smartphones and tech products, but the company now seems to be venturing into developing a System-on-Chip (SoC). The company plans to develop an SoC that will likely be used in its own devices, with better integration with HyperOS and enhancing the hardware-software synergy.

According to Yogesh Brar on X, Xiaomi’s new SoC will be built on TSMC’s 4nm (N4P) process, known for its efficiency. The performance of this SoC is said to be comparable to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, for reference, scored around 1 million in AnTuTu and approximately 1,200 single-core and 3,700 multi-core in Geekbench benchmarks. This suggests mid-range performance for Xiaomi’s upcoming chip.

The SoC will include a 5G modem supplied by UNISOC. Xiaomi is expected to reveal this new SoC by the first half of 2025. So, we can expect the chip to be integrated into mid-range Xiaomi smartphones by the latter half of 2025, while flagship models may continue to use Qualcomm SoCs.
