Xiaomi Redmi K70 Pro is likely to be the first smartphone to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The Chinese smartphone maker is gearing up for the massive Redmi K70 series launch and the Geekbench listing shows just how powerful the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC is going to be.
Redmi K70 Pro Spotted on Geekbench
Redmi K70 Pro made its appearance on a Geekbench listing bearing model number 23117RK66C. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC with a peak clock speed of 3.19GHz and 16GB of RAM. The phone scored 1,100 points on its single-core test while the multi-core test revealed a massive 5,150 points.
For anyone familiar with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset’s Geekbench score, the aforementioned will seem sub-par. However, you should be aware that the tests were likely performed on a prototype and not the one that will be available commercially. Additionally, we will see a jump in performance once the Geekbench tests are done on the full-fledged ready-to-ship Redmi K70 Pro.
As of now, we can see that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC is based on ARM ARMv8 and will have an eight-core architecture in a 2+5+1 configuration. The highest of the cores is clocked at 3.19GHz while 5x cores are buzzing at 2.96GHz and 2x cores at 2.27GHz.
Xiaomi Redmi K70 Pro Specifications (Rumored)
According to various sources, the Xiaomi Redmi K70 Pro is tipped to get a 2K AMOLED 120Hz panel with a punch-hole cut-out. There’s a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (released this October at the Snapdragon Summit 2023) paired alongside up to 1TB UFS 4.0 storage and 24GB LPDDR5x RAM. There’s Android 13-powered MIUI 14 OS out-of-the-box also hinted at by the aforementioned Geekbench listing.
Moving forward, we have a 5,120mAh battery onboard paired with 120W fast charging tech. Redmi K70 Pro is likely to become the first Redmi K-series phone to get a telephoto sensor, probably with a 3.2x zoom although the specifics remain unavailable.
The phone appeared on a purported Geekbench listing with Dimensity 9200 Plus SoC although that turned out to be a hoax. Instead, it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC sometime in December 2023 in China followed by a rebranding and global launch earlier next year. The series comprises three models: Xiaomi Redmi K70, K70 Pro, and K70e with codenames Vermeer, Manet, and Ingress, respectively.
