The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi is soon about to drop yet another flagship smartphone – the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Ahead of any official announcements from the company, details about the smartphone are surfacing on the internet. Most recently, the Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed more information about the handset, including its color options and other design-related rumors.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra Color Options

First, the tipster mentions the colors in which the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will be available. Per the post on Weibo, the handset should be available in blue with a glass back (most likely to be the latest version of Gorilla Glass). Then there are orange and black color options, which could have a silicon back. For those catching up, a silicon back indicates the presence of a soft, grippy material on the rear panel.

However, these colors represent those of the engineering prototypes the company is working on, and there could be additions or removals from the list. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is currently available in six color options. The original variants include black, white, and olive green, while the new additions include Starry Sky Blue, Cabernet Orange, and Ginkgo Yellow.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra Design

Regarding the phone’s design, it will retain the micro-curved edges from its predecessor. The back panel should come with a streamlined camera bulge. However, the middle metal frame doesn’t extend to the rear cover, possibly resulting in a more unified and holistic design. Adding another piece of information from blogger Smart Pikachu, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s camera module could have slightly curved edges. Moreover, the upcoming flagship retains several design-related elements.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra Specifications

Out of the box, the handset could come with a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen that supports variable refresh rates up to 120Hz. We already know that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will feature the top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC (second-generation 4nm fabrication technology). The phone also runs on a 5,180 mAh battery that supports 90W wired and 50W wireless charging.

Regarding cameras, previous reports suggested that the phone will come with a quad camera setup, including a 50MP SOny LYT900 variable aperture sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, and two 50MP telephoto sensors, one of which should feature a periscope lens for extended zoom range. The smartphone could also feature satellite communication ability, a telephoto macro camera, and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for more accuracy.

That said, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is expected to arrive in April 2024. Until then, users should take this information with a pinch of salt.
