After months of rumors and anticipation, Xiaomi India has announced the launch date for its latest flagship – Xiaomi 14. The handset came out in the company’s native market months ago. However, Xiaomi didn’t initially announce a global launch date. Nonetheless, now that the handset is confirmed to arrive in the country let’s learn more about the launch date, expected specifications, and price.

Xiaomi 14 Launch Date

Xiaomi will release the vanilla Xiaomi 14 in India on March 7, 2024. The company has confirmed this through its official X page on February 19, 2024. However, the caption only mentions one of the three anticipated smartphones in the series. The post reads, “#Xiaomi14 is ready to capture all the illuminating moments.”

This indicates that the other two phones in the series, i.e., the Xiaomi 14 Pro and the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, may not arrive in the country. Oddly, the company won’t release it in one of the largest smartphone markets in the world. Further, the Ultra variant also appeared on the BIS certification site, which suggested it might launch in India.

Xiaomi 14 Expected Specifications

Xiaomi 14 series may launch on Oct 27 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

Given the handset has already been selling in its native country for a couple of months, we have a fair idea about the specifications. Unless the company decides to ship in some last-minute tweaks, the Xiaomi 14 will come with a 6.36-inch OLED LTPO screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen will also feature Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for protection against nicks and scratches.

Under the hood, the smartphone will run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, the latest and greatest chipset for Android smartphones. Besides, users will get LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, enhancing overall performance. Powering the smartphone is a 4,610 mAh battery that supports 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Out of the box, the Xiaomi 14 should run on Hyper OS based on Android 14.

Regarding optics, the Xiaomi 14 should have a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultrawide sensor, and a 50MP telephoto sensor. On the front, users will get a 32MP selfie shooter. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth v5.4, NFC, and USB 3.1 Gen 1 port. Other features include an IP68 water and dust resistance rating, an in-display fingerprint scanner, dual-stereo speakers, and an IR blaster for remote control.

Xiaomi 14 Expected Price In India

The handset should cost around Rs. 55,000 to 60,000 for the base variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. This should place it in direct competition with the OnePlus 12, which comes with similar specifications.

What About The Xiaomi 14 Ultra?

Xiaomi 14 Ultra might not launch in India

Xiaomi is adopting a relatively confusing launch strategy for the ‘Ultra’ variant. Apparently, the company will release the Xiaomi 14 and the Xiaomi 14 Ultra globally on February 25 during an event at the Mobile World Congress. However, in its native market, the company will release the Xiaomi 14 Ultra on February 22, 2024. Along with the top-tier device, the company will also debut the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4.
