Tech giant Xiaomi has finally announced the launch date for its much-awaited upcoming smartphone series Xiaomi 12. Xiaomi 12 Series will go official on December 28 for the China market. Apart from Xiaomi 12 Series, the launch will also see the unveiling of MIUI 13. Let us have a look at what we know about the series and its launch.
Xiaomi 12 Series Launch Announced
Xiaomi officials Lei Jun, Lu Weibing, and Wang Teng Thomas took to their Weibo accounts to reveal a teaser poster announcing the launch of the Xiaomi 12 Series on December 28. The poster released by Xiaomi shows Chinese athlete Su Bingtian endorsing the Xiaomi 12 series. The poster does not give any hints about which models will be launched in Xiaomi 12 series on December 28, but the Weibo handles of the officials do confirm the launch of at least 3 variants on December 28.

The above image shows officials using Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X, and Xiaomi 12 Pro smartphones to write posts on Weibo hinting that these might be the 3 models that will get a launch on December 28.
Xiaomi 12 Expected Specs
Xiaomi has already confirmed that all the smartphones in Xiaomi 12 range will use Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. 3C certification has confirmed that Xiaomi 12 will support 67W fast charging. Xiaomi 12 is expected to sport a 6.2-inch AMOLED display with full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi 12 series will also come pre-installed with Android 12 and MIUI 13.
Xiaomi 12 will have a rear camera module housing a triple camera setup. It will have a large circular cutout below which will be 2 tiny ones and an LED flash. The smartphone is said to have a 5000mAh battery and measure 152.7×70.0x8.6mm. It is expected to be available in 3 colors- Black, White, and Gold.
Xiaomi 12X Expected Specs
Xiaomi 12X is said to be a compact smartphone and is speculated to compete with iPhone’s mini variant. It has been spotted on the IMEI listing and is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset. It is rumored to sport a 6.28-inch AMOLED Full HD+ resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR 10. It will have Android 12 and MIUI 13 pre-installed.
In the camera department, Xiaomi 12X is expected to feature a 50MP sensor and also support 67W fast charging. It can have an in-display fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm audio jack too.
Xiaomi 12 Pro
Just like Xiaomi 12, the Pro variant will also feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. It is expected to support 120W fast charging as per the 3C listing. It will reportedly have an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Like the two other smartphones, Xiaomi 12 Pro will also come with pre-installed Android 12 and MIUI 13.

Xiaomi is also expected to launch Xiaomi 12 Ultra, Xiaomi 12 Lite, and Xiaomi 12 Lite Zoom but they won’t get official on December 28. However, seems like Xiaomi 12 Ultra might get a launch in Q1 of 2022 considering its leaked renders have already surfaced online. Have a look at them below-
