Here's Why The Company Is Recalling Over 2,500 Alto K10s

The voluntary recall concerns the company’s most affordable vehicle at the moment: the Alto K10. In rare cases, a defect in the steering gearbox assembly could affect the car’s steerability. In total, 2555 units have been recalled. As mentioned earlier, the authorized service providers will conduct a free inspection/replacement.

“Out of abundant caution, customers of the affected vehicles are advised not to drive or use the vehicle till the Part is replaced,” the company mentions in an official announcement.

How To Know If Your Alto K10 Is Affected?

If you own an Alto K10 and are concerned about a possible defect, contact the dealership where you purchased the car. Your car’s chassis number can help you determine whether it is in the lot facing the issue and, hence, needs to have the faulty parts replaced. You can also head to the company’s official website and enter the vehicle’s VIN to check if any inspections or repairs are needed.

Before this, Maruti Suzuki recalled over 11,800 units of Baleno and 4,100 units of WagonR, two of its most selling vehicles. The recall took place due to a potential issue in the Fuel Pump Motor, which could lead to stalling of the engine or a starting problem. Nonetheless, when such recalls occur, the company bears the cost of repair and ensures that the customers aren’t troubled.
