According to WaBetaInfo, WhatsApp’s new feature will be able to store and memorize user’s data in Meta AI. It will help in bringing more personalized content by prioritizing users’ choices.

WhatsApp New Feature for Personalization
The new feature that will roll out soon will be called ‘chat memory’. Just as the name suggests, this feature will memorize your chat with Meta AI and highlight what you like or dislike. Things will get more personalized and easier to access as one will be able to get quick results for their searches with Meta AI.
As personalization is at the base, chat memory will not only show preferred choices but also remember them. Even if you forget your choices, Meta AI will remember them for you.

How does the ‘Chat Memory’ feature work?
While you are having a chat with your Meta AI, you might mention some of your likes and dislikes. Meta AI will collect these choices and store them in the memory. For example, you might be fond of easy baking recipes and mention it somewhere in a chat. Now, when you look for ‘easy to bake recipes’ Meta AI will show you all those recipes it can find. This is because Meta AI has stored your preferences and some related data in its memory to display options that fit your preferences.
Not only this, with WhatsApp memory Meta AI can also offer advice, recommendations, and responses. All these will be specific to users’ likes and dislikes. Also, the user will have 100% control over what Meta AI will remember. They can update, change, or delete any information in Meta AI whenever they want to.
The feature was spotted in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android but as of now, it isn’t available to users. Some screenshots reveal a new Memory section for the Meta AI contact card in WhatsApp. This section will display a list of all the things Meta AI remembers about the user.
Is this new feature a boon or bane?

WhatsApp getting its memory might prove to be a boon or a bane. If we talk about advantages, it can help the user get more personalized content. They just need to ask Meta AI to look for what they want. It can be ‘best platform-heels under 999’, or ‘festive moments with family in 2024’. The data will have been stored from the chat where these keywords were mentioned. This makes things easier to access.
Every new feature has its own downsides too. This chat memory might prove to be a problem for data safety. This is because if your memorized data by Meta AI gets leaked or hacked, you might get into serious trouble.
