After months of leaks and rumors, Google confirmed the launch date for the Pixel 8 launch event. The Pixel launch will take place on October 4, 2023. At the event, we’re expecting a few devices from the company, including two smartphones and a smartwatch. Interestingly, Google declared the date one day after Apple sent out invites for its “Wonderlust” iPhone 15 launch event.

Where To Watch The Google October Event?

The Pixel launch event will occur on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, in New York City. While the company will invite several publications and media houses to the in-person event, enthusiasts around the world can watch the event’s live stream on Google’s YouTube channel and the company’s official website. What To Expect From The Google October Event?

The media invite mentions about the Pixel portfolio of devices. Hence, it is safe to speculate that the company might stick to the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and the second-generation Pixel Watch. The leaked specifications and images of these devices have been doing rounds on the internet for quite some time. Most recently, we’ve also seen an official picture of the Pixel 8 Pro show up on the Google Store.

Pixel 8 Leaked Specifications

The smartphone should feature a 6.17-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with support for 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,400 nits. Under the hood, the new Pixel device will run on Google’s in-house Tensor G3 chipset, alongside 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Like the Pixel 7, the Pixel 8 has a dual-camera setup with a 50MP primary camera and a 12MP ultrawide camera.

Other phone specifications include an in-display fingerprint scanner, a USB-C port, IP68 water and dust resistance rating, and 24W fast wired charging.

Pixel 8 Pro Specifications

Earlier this year, Smartprix shared the first CAD renders of the Pixel 8 Pro. The phone will feature a larger 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with support for up to 120Hz refresh rate and a higher peak brightness of 1,600 nits. Like the Pixel 8, the Pixel 8 Pro will also run on Tensor G3 processor, albeit with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. This time, users can expect significant changes in the camera department, as the Pixel 8 Pro could offer a 50MP primary sensor, a 64MP ultrawide sensor, and a 48MP sensor for up to 5x optical zoom.

While other features like the in-display fingerprint scanner, an IP68 rating, and a USB-C port remain similar to the Pixel 8, the Pro version could feature a larger 4,950 mAh battery with support for 27W wired charging.

Pixel Watch 2 Specifications

Per the latest reports, the Pixel Watch 2 could come with a 1.2-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 320 ppi. The smartwatch should run on Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset, with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It should also offer all the standard health and fitness tracking features like ECG, sleep detection, blood oxygen tracking, activities tracker, etc. More details about the Pixel 8 series and the Pixel Watch 2 could surface online in the coming days.
