Volvo India has expanded its electric vehicle portfolio in the Indian market with the introduction of the C40 Recharge, marking its second all-electric SUV for the region. Priced at an introductory rate of Rs 61.25 lakh (ex-showroom), this eco-friendly offering demonstrates Volvo’s commitment to sustainable mobility in India.

Interested buyers will have the opportunity to book the C40 Recharge online, starting from September 5 at 5 pm. The automaker has assured customers that deliveries will kick off in the second half of this month, making it an eagerly awaited addition to the electric vehicle landscape in India.

With this latest launch, Volvo is not only contributing to the growth of electric mobility but also providing consumers with a luxurious and environmentally conscious choice in the premium electric SUV segment. The C40 Recharge combines Volvo’s renowned safety features with cutting-edge electric technology, offering a compelling package for those seeking both style and sustainability in their automotive choices.

Volvo C40 Recharge: Motor, Battery, Range

The Volvo C40 Recharge is equipped with a 78 kWh battery pack, a similar capacity to the XC40 Recharge. However, its aerodynamic design provides a significant advantage, resulting in an impressive claimed WLTP range of up to 530 kilometers. This extended range ensures that drivers can cover more distance on a single charge, enhancing the practicality of the vehicle.

For the Indian market, Volvo offers the C40 Recharge in a twin motor configuration, featuring an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system. This setup generates an impressive power output of 403 bhp and a substantial peak torque of 660 Nm. As a result, the SUV boasts a brisk 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.7 seconds, making it a performance-oriented electric vehicle.

Furthermore, the C40 Recharge is designed to be efficient when it comes to recharging. It can be fast-charged at up to 150 kW, enabling a rapid charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 37 minutes. This feature contributes to the convenience and practicality of the vehicle, making it suitable for both daily commutes and longer journeys.

Volvo C40 Recharge Features and Safety

The features of the Volvo C40 Recharge mirror those found in the XC40 Recharge. It includes pixel LED headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels, a 12.3-inch driver display complemented by a 9.0-inch Android-based central infotainment system. The vehicle also boasts a Harman Kardon sound system, wired Apple CarPlay compatibility, dual-zone climate control, and vegan leather upholstery, offering both luxury and technology in one package.

Safety-wise, the C40 Recharge is equipped with Level 3 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), featuring an auto one-pedal drive system capable of assessing traffic conditions, enhancing convenience and safety during driving.
