BYD Auto India has broadened its passenger vehicle lineup in the Indian market with the introduction of the new Seal electric sedan. Available in three variants – Dynamic, Premium, and Performance – the Seal is priced between Rs 41.00 lakh and Rs 53.00 lakh (ex-showroom).
Derived from the same platform as the Atto 3 SUV, the Seal embodies the sleek and low-slung profile of a four-door coupe. With dimensions measuring 4,800 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, and 1,460 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,920 mm, it promises a stylish and spacious ride.
The Seal’s cabin showcases a modern digital layout on the dashboard, with two standalone screens for the infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster. Similar to the Atto 3, the touchscreen can be rotated between portrait and landscape orientations, providing enhanced usability and convenience.
Interior
Moving on to the features, the Seal comes packed with a range of standard amenities. These include nine airbags, traction control, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, powered driver and co-driver seats, heated and ventilated seats, a 15.6-inch touchscreen, and dual-zone climate control.
For higher variants, additional features are included, such as a heads-up display, a torque vectoring system, memory functions for the door mirrors and driver seat, and faster charging support.
The Seal comes equipped with an array of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), providing enhanced safety and convenience. These include lane departure warning and prevention, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, collision warning system, cross traffic alert, emergency braking, and blind spot assist.

Powertrain
Under the hood, the Seal offers versatility with both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants. The rear-wheel-drive options include a 201 bhp and 310 Nm variant in the base Dynamic model, or a more robust 308 bhp and 360 Nm engine in the Premium trim. For those seeking top performance, the top-spec Performance trim boasts an all-wheel-drive powertrain, delivering a combined 523 bhp and 670 Nm of torque. Additionally, the all-wheel-drive model is equipped with adaptive dampers for enhanced handling and stability.
Battery and Range
The Seal offers two battery options to suit varying needs. The standard range variant is equipped with a 61.44 kWh battery pack, providing a range of up to 510 km. Meanwhile, the more powerful variant and AWD models feature a larger 82.56 kWh battery, offering up to 650 km of range on the RWD model and 580 km on the AWD model (NEDC figures).
In terms of charging capabilities, all variants support up to 7 kW AC fast charging, with the base variants accommodating up to 110 kW DC fast charging. The extended-range models, on the other hand, support up to 150 kW DC fast charging.
