Ahead of its official debut on 5 March, BYD is gearing up to unveil its highly anticipated second product in India, the BYD Seal. Leaked details have provided insights into the specifications and other key features of this upcoming release, including its expected price range. Here are more details about the same.
BYD Seal Leaked Features and Specifications
Equipped with BYD’s signature blade battery technology, the upcoming BYD Seal boasts a substantial 82.5kWh battery pack. Offering rapid charging capabilities, it can charge from 10-80 percent in a mere 37 minutes, supporting fast charging speeds of up to 150kW. For conventional charging needs, a standard 11kW AC charger will take approximately 8.6 hours to fully charge the battery from 0-100 percent.
With the aid of this robust battery pack, the BYD Seal achieves impressive performance metrics. Delivering a peak power output of 230 bhp and a peak torque of 360 Nm, this electric vehicle (EV) is poised to offer a thrilling driving experience. Globally available in both Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and All-Wheel Drive (AWD) variants, the Indian market may initially witness the launch of the RWD version, with the AWD variant anticipated to follow suit. Clocking in at a claimed 5.9 seconds for the 0-100 kmph acceleration, the Seal EV demonstrates swift and dynamic performance capabilities.
Infotainment System
In 2021, BYD unveiled its innovative Ocean X design platform, serving as the foundation for the Seal model. Drawing inspiration from the ocean’s allure, the Seal showcases distinct design elements such as a sloping glass roof and boomerang-shaped LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), complemented by elongated headlights. Inside, passengers are treated to modern amenities, including a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch rotating infotainment display. The rotating screen, reminiscent of the BYD Atto 3, adds a touch of versatility and sophistication to the interior space.
Expected Price In India
BYD India has officially slated the launch of the Seal for March 5th in New Delhi, marking a significant milestone in the electric vehicle market. Positioned as a formidable contender, the Seal is poised to directly challenge competitors like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV6. With an anticipated price hovering around the Rs 50 lakh mark, it aims to carve a niche for itself in the premium electric vehicle segment.
