Vivo Y16 launched in India with Mediatek chipset to attract budget buyers

Vivo has quietly launched a new affordable smartphone in India – the Vivo Y16. The new Y-series mobile phone includes Helio P35 chipset, dual rear cameras, and a 5000mAh battery as its highlighting features. The device comes in two colour options Stellar Black and Drizzling Gold.

Vivo Y16 Price and Availability

The new Vivo Y16 offers two memory configurations – 3GB+ 32GB and 4GB + 64GB. The vanilla variant is priced at Rs 9,999 while the other model will cost Rs 12,499 to customers. The company has commenced the sale of Vivo Y16 through Vivo online store and offline retail partners. Vivo Y16 is bundled with Rs 750 discount offer on HDFC Bank credit, debit, and EMI transactions.

Vivo Y16 Features

Vivo Y16 has a 6.51-inch IPS LCD waterdrop notch display with a resolution of 720×1600 pixels. It offers a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The dual rear camera setup includes 13MP primary and 2MP secondary sensors with an LED flash.

The new Vivo Y16 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P35 processor coupled with up to 4GB RAM and up to 64GB internal memory. The device runs on Funtouch OS 12 based on the Android 12 operating system. 

Vivo has equipped the Y16 with a 5000mAh battery that supports 10W charging capability. Connectivity features include Dual-SIM, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, a Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also offers a side-mounted fingerprint sensor to unlock the device. It also supports GPS, BEIDOU, GLONASS, and GALILEO for location services.
