  • The vivo X300 now supports Apple’s AirDrop protocol directly through Quick Share, eliminating the need for third-party apps.
  • Users can now transfer files from the X300 to iPhones, iPads, and Macs by simply enabling AirDrop’s “Everyone” mode on Apple devices.
  • Google has confirmed that the feature will roll out to more Android smartphones in the coming months.

After a long wait, the vivo X300 has finally gained support for Apple’s AirDrop protocol through Quick Share. The feature was previously limited to the vivo X300 Ultra, but it is now rolling out to the standard X300 as well.

With the update installed, X300 users can send files directly to iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks using Apple’s native AirDrop system. To use the feature, users simply need to set AirDrop on their Apple device to ”Everyone” mode and initiate file sharing through Quick Share on the vivo X300.

While cross-platform sharing between vivo and Apple devices was already possible earlier, it required installing additional apps on the receiving device. The new implementation works natively through Quick Share and AirDrop, making the process much more seamless.

Google first announced expanded support for AirDrop-compatible sharing during The Android Show, confirming that the functionality would gradually roll out to more Android devices, including the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, OPPO Find X8 series, Honor Magic V6, and Honor Magic 8 Pro.

Interestingly, the vivo X300’s update suggests that Google may be expanding support beyond the original list of announced devices. As a result, users with other Android smartphones may also receive native AirDrop compatibility in future software updates.
