TL; DR
  • Tipster Yogesh Brar claims the vivo S2 will launch in India in early August, with sales expected around the Independence Day shopping season.
  • The smartphone has appeared on the Bluetooth SIG certification database carrying the model number V2576.
  • While the launch timeline is becoming clearer, it’s still uncertain whether the vivo S2 is an entirely new phone or a rebadged device.

vivo may finally be bringing its S-series smartphones back to India after a long hiatus. According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the vivo S2 is expected to debut in early August 2026, with open sales likely beginning during the Independence Day sale period.

This follows earlier reports that suggested a July launch, which ultimately never materialized. While the schedule appears to have shifted, one detail has remained consistent across multiple reports: the device carries the V2576 model number, which has now surfaced on the Bluetooth SIG certification website under the vivo S2 branding.

Could It Be a Rebadged Phone?

Another question surrounding the vivo S2 is whether it is actually a new smartphone. vivo has frequently rebranded its China-exclusive S-series devices for international markets under different names. Because of that history, there’s speculation that the Indian vivo S2 could simply be a renamed version of another upcoming device, possibly the vivo X300e.

At this point, however, there is no direct evidence connecting the two phones. The possibility is based on vivo’s past strategy rather than any confirmed leak, so it should be treated as speculation.

Specifications Still Under Wraps

Beyond the expected launch window and price range, almost nothing is known about the vivo S2.

Details such as the processor, display, battery, cameras, and charging speeds have yet to surface. The original vivo S1, launched in India in 2019, stood out with its AMOLED display, in-display fingerprint scanner, and 32MP selfie camera, reflecting the S-series’ traditional emphasis on design and front-camera.

If vivo continues that approach, the S2 is likely to focus on cameras and aesthetics, though that remains to be seen.

What to Expect

For now, the early August launch window and Bluetooth SIG certification are the strongest indicators that the vivo S2 is nearing its debut. Everything else, including the pricing, hardware, and the possibility of it being a rebadged X300e, remains unconfirmed until more substantial leaks or an official announcement from vivo arrive.
