The first month of the new year is about to begin in 11 days. After a dull season for Indian tech enthusiasts after Apple’s iPhone launch in September, January will be an exciting month with various tech giants gearing up to begin 2024 on a grand note. From Xiaomi to Samsung, from OnePlus to Asus, from Vivo to iqoo, every brand has something special planned for January 2024.

Here are all the major smartphone launches that will happen in India in January 2024.
1. Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Series
Launch date- 4 January 2024
The first launch for 2024 will be the Redmi Note 13 Series from Xiaomi. The series has already launched in China and will now come to India. It includes 3 devices- Redmi Note 13 5G, Redmi Note 13 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro+.
Xiaomi keeps teasing various details of its top-end Pro Plus variant now and then. The brand has confirmed that it will be powered by Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset and come in 3 colors- Fusion Black, Fusion White, and Fusion Purple. IP68 rating has also been confirmed for the device.
Since it has already launched in China, we know that the Redmi Note 13 Series features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The chipset in all 3 smartphones is different with the vanilla model featuring the Dimensity 6080 chipset, the Pro model having a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC, and the Pro Plus being powered by Dimensity 7200 Ultra. The Redmi Note 13 has a dual camera setup, while Redmi Note 13 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro+ sport a triple camera setup. All 3 devices will run MIUI 14 based on Android 13. The middle member packs a 5100mAh battery while the other two have a 5000mAh powerhouse.
2. Samsung Galaxy S24 Series
Launch date- 17 January 2024
Samsung will reportedly host a Galaxy Unpacked Event on January 17 wherein the brand will launch the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus, and Samsung Galaxy S24. The expected specs of all three models are given below.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is the highest model in the series. It is said to have a 6.8-inch QHD+ OLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset customized for Samsung and feature 12GB RAM with up to 1TB storage. Under the hood, the Ultra model might pack a 5000mAh battery with 45W charging. The strongest point is expected to be the camera setup at the back (200MP+10MP+50MP+10MP).
Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus is the middle member of the family that is often neglected. It is expected to be powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset paired with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. The battery might be 4900mAh, slightly bigger than its predecessor with 45W charging. At the front might be a 6.7-inch QHD+OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The base Samsung Galaxy S24 5G smartphone is said to be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with 8GB RAM and up to 512GB storage. It might have a smaller 4000mAh battery with 25W wired charging and a triple camera setup at the back including a 50MP main sensor. It will be the most affordable device in the series sporting a 6.2-inch FHD+ OLED display.
3. OnePlus 12
Launch date- 23rd January 2024
OnePlus has just confirmed the India launch of the OnePlus 12 5G in a grand event taking place at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The event is titled ‘Smooth Beyond Belief’ and will have a huge audience watching it live.
OnePlus 12 was announced in China recently so we do have an idea about what the specs will be. OnePlus 12 comes with a large 6.82-inch QHD+ 2K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display is claimed to be the brightest and the best in the industry with 4500 nits brightness, Dolby Vision, ProXDR, 10-bit color depth, and 2160 PWM dimming.
The smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC with up to 24GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. In terms of camera optics, there are 50MP+64MP+48MP lenses at the back. A better vapor chamber cooling system has also been introduced on the device which runs Android 14 OS. Under the hood is a large 5400mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging capability. OnePlus has kept the design similar to the OnePlus 11 but introduced new color options for freshness. OnePlus 12 comes in Pale Green, Rock Black, and White shades.
4. OnePlus 12R
Launch date- 23rd January 2024
OnePlus 12R will accompany the OnePlus 12 5G during the launch event next month. The successor to the OnePlus 11R, it is a slightly more affordable device from OnePlus. This time, OnePlus 12R is expected to launch with some improvements. According to reports, it will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and will have a different design. It might have a curved OLED display with a 1.5K resolution. An improved camera setup might include 50MP+8MP+32MP lenses and under the hood might be a large 5500mAh battery with 100W fast charging. OnePlus 12R might be the rebrand of the OnePlus Ace 3 that was launched in China.
5. Vivo X100 Series
Launch date- Mid-January 2024
Vivo has started teasing the launch of the Vivo X100 Series in India. The Vivo X100 Series will include Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro smartphones. Known for its photography prowess, the Vivo X100 Series will run Android 14 OS and feature 6.78-inch curved LTPO AMOLED panels with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Both smartphones will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset with Vivo V3 Chip for gaming. Partnership with Zeiss will mean a 1-inch 50MP main camera at the back. The pro version is expected to have a 5000mAh battery with 120W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
6. Asus ROG 8 Series
Launch date- 9 January 2024 (global launch)
Asus recently confirmed that the ROG 8 Series will launch globally on 9th January 2024 during the Consumer Electronics Show. The series will have Asus ROG 8 and Asus ROG 8 Pro smartphones. Both the devices are confirmed to have a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel and 5500mAh batteries. Asus ROG Phone 8 Series has also been confirmed to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
The smartphones have a boxy design with minimum bezels and a hole punch display that resembles the ROG 7 Series. The Pro variant is said to have a 50MP+13MP+32MP camera setup at the back. At the front will be a 32MP lens for video calls and selfies.
7. iQOO 9 Neo 9 Pro
Launch date- January 2024
iQOO has confirmed the launch of the iQOO Neo 9 Series in China on December 27. It will include iQOO Neo 9 and iQOO Neo 9 Pro smartphones. Now, the latest news is that the Pro model will come to India soon after its China launch. Tipster Mukul Sharma claims that iQOO Neo 9 Pro will launch in India in January 2024. It will have a dual-tone red and white design and be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. iQOO has confirmed that the smartphone will come in Nautical Blue, White Soul, and Fighting Red and Black shades.
In China, iQOO is launching iQOO Neo 9, iQOO Neo 9 Pro, iQOO Watch, and iQOO TWS 1e together on December 27.
